RE: 2008 Jayco 23FB bugs

After 6 months of use we had to have the Memorex DVD player replaced due to one of the speaker outlets failing. The power inverter had to be replaced because the cooling fan bearing was defective (made a high pitched noise). Both issues were taken care of under waranty by the dealer with no questions.

RE: generator purchase

I too have the Champion 3500 generator. I have used it often and have had no problems with it nor have I had any complaints about noise. I am however surprised the generator police have not chimed in on this thread yet. They can be relentless when you mention any generator type other than a Honda or Yamaha.

Southaven RV - Southaven Mississippi

I took my 2008 Jayco Jayflight G2 23FB into Southaven RV for some warranty repairs and to my surprise they pointed out some items I had missed. While repairing the DVD player the technician identified a high pitched noise coming from the inverter(bad cooling fan bearing). I am thankful the technician identified this prior to failure. He also noticed some loose interior door trim and a couple of spots on a dinette cushion. He replaced the door trim and removed the spots on the cusion with upholstry cleaner. It goes beyond the technician. Everytime I go into this place for service or to purchase accessories I am greeted at the door and asked what can be done to assist me. Most of the time, I am greeted by name. It means a lot to be able to get this kind of service and remembered after the sale.

LP Gas Regulator Stuck - Closed

Jayco Jayflight 23FB LP Gas regulator stuck closed. Not getting propane to any appliances. Any ideas on a temporary fix? I will have the regulator replaced under warranty when I return from our camping trip. I have already tapped on the regulator with the plastic end of a screw driver but it did not free up the regulator. Thanks in advance for your replies.

RE: Do you lock your battery, propane tanks, and spare tire?

Never though about it, but now that it has been mentioned I will lock them up when traveling or at a camp site (secured by privacy fence while parked at home). Moreover, my RV insurance deductable is more than the amount it would take to replace the propane tanks, battery and/or spare tire. Not to mention a probable premium increase.

RE: Best way to control Bugs....

Like mike9said. I use the Home Defense product and have not had any insect issues what so ever.

RE: Decorating your TT how much is too much?

Just the necessities. If it does not store nicely in one of the storage areas, it does not belong. No pictures on the walls or nic/naks. If our unit was not new, I would probably have a different point of view concerning decorating.

RE: Baggage Door Leak

My new Jayco 23FB front left door leaked shortly after I purchased it. When I inspected the seal I noticed I had bent the lip it was affixed while loading. I straightend the lip with a pair of buck bill sheet metal pliers. That stopped the leak.

RE: State Park Camping Fees

Mississippi State Park camping fees very from park to park with most being $18.00 for a full hookup and $14.00 for water and 30/50amp service only. Discount is given to those over 65 or disabled. When we camped at Enid Lake, Chickasaw Hills recreation area over the Memorial Day weekend all of the camping sites were occupied. Last week, when I reserved a camp site at Enid Lake, George P. Cossar recreation area, for the Labor Day weekend I noticed all camp sites had been reserved with the exception 9 sites. This past weekend the George P. Cossar recreation area was at about 80% capacity. Hope this information has helped. Happy camping to all.

RE: Electric awning debate

Ten Stud is correct. What he states is contained in the rain dump option instuctions afixed to my Carefree electric awning. This awning was on the 2008 Jayco Jayflight G2 FB23 we purchased. Only problem I have with the awning is the arms are to low when the awning is extended. If I am not paying attention I hit them with my head. After a couple times of that I have learned to hang something on the arms so I can see them.

RE: Cleaning Roof

I cleaned the roof of my Jayco Jayflight G2 FB23 this morning. I weigh 250 pounds and thought the roof was pretty solid, (stayed on trusses as much as possible). I used a 12 foot step ladder to climb onto the roof. I used a roof cleaner and conditioner I purchased from Wal-Mart. The entire cleaning took less than hour. This is the second time I have washed and treated the roof this season. The roof seems to get dirty very quickly here in Northern Mississippi. Hope this helped, happy camping and good luck.

RE: Portable BBq

This is in regards to ivylog's post referencing the Wally World 260sq inch SS grill. We purchased this model last season and have used it three times. Over the course of this period all four legs have fallen off during set up. Otherwise, the grill functions fine. As they say, you get what you pay for. Happy Camping

RE: Gas Quick Connect

I also wanted to connect my portable gas grill to the LP source on our Jayco Jayflight G2 TT. To accomplish this I purchased an LP hose that has a fitting that attaches to BBQ grill at the regulator. The other end of the hose has a male quick connect fitting that connects to the female propane quick connect coupler on our TT. The LP line to the TT quick connect coupler must not be regulated because our BBQ grill functions better now than it did with the small propane bottles. Hope this helps. Good luck and happy camping.

RE: I have become my parents?

I resemble most of these comments. Nice to know I am not the only one who spends a large part of their time at RV.NET and tracking the camping and ATV gear ordered from one of the Internet suppliers.

RE: Champion 3500/400 Watt Generator

I searched high and low for the $150.00 3500/4000 watt Champion RV generator. I went to the Parts America, and Checkers websites looking for the discount coupon. I even called the local Parts America store. I was told the Champion generator is not available in the Parts America stores but could be purchased on-line for $349.00. In addition to the cost of the generator there is an additional $48.00 for shipping. Just by chance, I ran across the Champion 3500/4000 watt RV generator at Tractor Supply Company for $299.00. I must say, I am quite satisfied with my purchase even though I did not get it for $150.00. As for the noise, I will using the generator while boondocking on private property and won't be disturbing anyone. Moreover, if the noise level bothers me, I will remove my hearing aids.

RE: Champion 3500/400 Watt Generator

This is a question for Big_Johnson. Can you advise me on what was necessary to make the wheel kit. When I picked up my Champion generator at Tractor Supply Company they did not have a wheel kit for it. Thanks and happy camping
